Drake Center: Specialized Medical & Rehabilitative Care

Health Care Resource Center

At Drake Center, patients and families are dealing with the long-term effects of traumatic illnesses, injuries, or chronic conditions. Seeking answers and alternative solutions to the multiple care needs faced on the road to recovery can be daunting. To help patients and families with these challenges, the Health Care Resource Center has been established.

Part of Drake Center’s patient and family education program, the Health Care Resource Center provides information to support the treatment and recovery process and improve quality of life. The Health Care Resource Center serves a potential audience of up to 14,000 patients, 34,000 family members, and a growing number of community residents every year.

The Health Care Resource Center provides a friendly and comfortable environment, with access to computers, support group information, books, videos, and other materials, all organized so that visitors can find health-related topics easily. Specially trained volunteers are on hand for further assistance. A separate children’s area permits our younger visitors to conduct computer research, play educational games, or read books and magazines. All services offered by the Health Care Resource Center are free of charge.

Please remember that the primary resource for health education is an individual's physician. The materials available in the Health Care Resource Center are not intended to replace a physician’s advice or instructions.
