Laboratory Services

The Laboratory Services department at Drake Center offers on-site inpatient and outpatient services under the medical direction of an attending pathologist/director. Services and features provided by Drake Center’s expert laboratory staff include the following:

  • Available testing includes chemistry, coagulation, hematology, therapeutic drug monitoring, urinalysis, and limited microbiology.

  • Routine diagnostic laboratory procedures are performed daily.

  • Tests are also available on a STAT basis (results within one hour).

  • Specialized services are available through Drake Center’s reference lab, Alliance Laboratory Services, and Hoxworth Blood Center.

  • Point-of-care (bedside) testing is available, provided by an interdisciplinary team.

  • Upon request, results may be given by telephone or fax.

Hours of operation

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

After-hours emergency services are provided by the House Manager and on-call physician.
