Outpatient Referral and Registration
An individual can come to Drake Center as an outpatient in a number of ways:

As a walk-in with a prescription in hand — If a patient is there for lab or radiology services, the patient can receive services during this walk-in visit; a physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology patient will need to schedule an appointment with a therapist upon arrival.

A physician can fax a prescription and patient phone number, and the registrars will contact the patient at home to preregister the individual and schedule an initial appointment. Final registration takes place when the patient comes in for the first visit.

The patient may call the Registration and Scheduling department and state that the referring physician has given him or her a prescription to come to Drake Center. The registrar will preregister the patient over the phone, supply an initial appointment, and complete the registration process upon arrival at Drake for the first appointment.
All patient insurance is verified and precertified as necessary by our Financial Coordinator to ensure that the patient is covered for services.
