
Your admission process will begin with a referral from your physician and an evaluation, if appropriate, by one of Drake Center’s specially trained assessment nurses. This screening is necessary to insure your proper placement within Drake Center’s continuum of care.
You or a family member may have already talked with Drake Center’s assessment nurse about Drake Center services. If a tour of the facilities cannot be scheduled, a Facilities Overview video is available.
On the day of your admission, a family member can visit the Admitting office to complete the necessary paperwork, or an admissions team member can come to your room. To ease the process, please bring:

Your case manager will give you and your family a complete orientation to Drake Center services and your unit, including the Drake Center video and literature and a booklet on patients’ rights and responsibilities. Please see other sections of this online handbook for additional information about the variety of services available during your stay.
Most often, a patient is assigned to a semi-private room with one other patient. Once you are admitted, a physician on Drake Center’s team will complete a medical examination. Your treatment team will then work with you and your family to develop an individualized plan of care.
