If you bring an electric razor, hair dryer, clock, radio, or other electrical equipment into the hospital, the nursing staff will arrange for this equipment to be checked by the Clinical Engineering department for safety compliance at the time of admission. Be sure to label all items with your name. Personal TVs are not permitted for safety reasons.
For your convenience, we strongly urge you to leave all money and valuables at home. Items you do keep in your room should be clearly marked with your name. Drake Center cannot be responsible for personal items that are lost or stolen.
You may deposit small amounts of money or valuables in the facility’s Finance office after filling out a Personal Valuables Deposit Receipt. Please contact your social worker or nurse for more information.
If you will be at Drake Center for an extended stay, you may open an interest-bearing resident bank account. You will be issued a receipt at the time of each deposit, and a quarterly statement will be issued showing transactions for that period. To set up such an account, call Patient Accounts, 513-418-2588 (within Drake Center: 2588).
All medications prescribed for our patients must be dispensed or approved for use by our in-house Pharmacy. We request that you do not bring any medications from home.
Drugs and alcoholic beverages may not be brought into Drake Center. For the safety and security of our patients, Drake Center reserves the right to search your room and remove such items if we have reason to believe this policy is being violated. Violation of this policy may result in your discharge.
