As a member of our community, I'm sure you agree each neighborhood is unique in its character and the needs of the residents. But, one of the most fundamental needs of every community is access to high-quality health care. In the report below you will see Drake Center plays a critical role in the region's health care delivery system to the entire county.
Acute care hospitals refer patients with catastrophic injuries and illnesses to Drake Center for ongoing specialized medical and rehabilitative care. Drake's unique model provides a much lower cost setting than an acute care hospital, where most of our patients would otherwise remain. Drake contributes to lower overall health care costs, which deliver botton-line savings for area businesses and employees. The continuity and coordination of medical treatment through our continuum of care is not only an efficient way to provide medical services, but also essential to patient recovery, as evidenced by the fact that more than 70% of Drake's patients return home or to work to lead productive lives.
