Dr. Jonathan Strayer

Dr. Jonathan Strayer, MD, works as an attending physician on the Neurological Rehabilitation units at Drake Center. In addition, he provides follow-up examinations and treatment for outpatients who have been discharged from Drake after medically complex care. Dr. Strayer is also a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

His areas of expertise and interest include spinal cord injury, brain injury, and neuromuscular rehabilitation; functional electrical stimulation for spinal cord injury patients; and other related areas of research. For instance, he is currently serving as principal investigator in a grant-funded research study—the neural and functional effects of electrically stimulated cycling in incomplete spinal cord injury.

Dr. Strayer has authored and coauthored a large number of articles on research findings, published in peer-review journals. He has also given many professional presentations on innovative rehabilitation approaches.

Dr. Strayer earned his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Baylor University College of Medicine, Houston, Texas..
