Statistics show that more than half of the U.S. population will one day need long-term care. Most people think of such care as something needed by older people, but an accident or illness can strike someone of any age. Dr. Syed Moqeeth, Medical Director of the Skilled Nursing units at Drake Center, understands the implications of those statistics and has helped build one of the region’s finest skilled nursing services.
With a specialty in geriatric medicine, Dr. Moqeeth joined Drake Center in 1997.
Board-certified in both internal medicine (1995) and geriatric medicine (1998), Dr. Moqeeth is a Certified Medical Director (CMD) and co-author of Hearing Evaluation in the Elderly from Mosby Publications. He is a member of the American Geriatrics Society and the American Medical Directors Association.
Dr. Moqeeth attended medical school at Gandhi Medical College in India and completed his residency in internal medicine at Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati. While there, he was named Best Intern in Internal Medicine for 1992-1993. He also completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
