Drake Center: Specialized Medical & Rehabilitative Care

Giving Opportunities for The Drake Foundation

Making charitable contributions is an art — a creative process that can adapt to the changing needs and wishes of the donor. The Drake Foundation assures you that we will steward your gifts according to your wishes.

Cash

It’s the simplest, most direct, and most popular type of charitable contribution. The net cost to the donor can be much less than the actual amount of the gift. For example, a $1,000 cash gift from a donor in the 36% tax bracket is only $690 after the $310 tax savings. A cash gift is deductible up to 50% of a donor's AGI (adjusted gross income). Any excess of the 50% ceiling can be carried over for five years.

Special giving opportunities

There are many special initiatives, programs, and projects taking place at Drake Center. Your support of any of these endeavors is most welcome and appreciated. The following are some areas in need of your financial support:

Annual Fund

Contributions to this fund are unrestricted, which means that donations go to the area of greatest need. The Drake Foundation counts on support from friends, staff, and former patients in order to implement and maintain high-quality programs and projects.

The Drake Foundation Endowment Fund

The Foundation’s challenge of carrying out its mission has new meaning each year, as the cost of providing care increases for health care facilities due to lower reimbursement and health care coverage cuts. Contributions to the The Drake Foundation Endowment Fund offer distinct tax advantages to donors, while providing them with an opportunity to fund new or existing programs. These gifts can be restricted or unrestricted. The Endowment Fund allows donors to help Drake Center achieve new goals and enable Drake to move forward even in difficult financial times, by providing a safety net for programming and budgets when there are shortfalls.
